History of The Wedding Emporium

The Wedding Emporium is family owned and operated by Monica Coleman, her mom Peggy Clark and her Mother-in-Law Mona Coleman.

Monica, Peggy and Mona started their venture into the service and retail industries when they formed Monrho Productions, LLC in June, 2005 and shortly thereafter purchased Revelations Costume Shop in July, 2005. The costume business was a lot of fun but was extremely seasonal and their location inside one of the oldest homes in Historic Carson City was starting to get a little crowded.

Looking to expand their business, the ladies purchased Tux Town in June, 2007 and moved both businesses to Gilbert Square right on main street. Combining the two businesses worked very well since the busy seasons for each business were during different months of the year.

Monica has always had a love and a keen eye for photography so she opened up an Old Time Photo studio within Revelations Costume Shop. The more Monica got into portraiture, the more she realized that she loved photographing people and expanded her services to include traditional portraits and weddings.

Seeking a better location and exposure, the ladies moved Tux Town to the Carson Mall in November of 2008; keeping Revelations and the Old Time Studio at the downtown location until their lease was up in December. This was a defining moment for Monrho Productions, LLC because there were two choices to make; keep the smaller space that Tux Town was moved into at the mall and close Revelations or take over the space that used to be Valley Chic Boutique and Carls Imaging and make it a bigger retail store.

While the costume rental business was down, the wedding business was holding it’s own in the current economy. So, with the help and support of their husbands, The Wedding Emporium and New2U Bridal were created.

Since then, The Wedding Emporium has been an invaluable addition to the wedding market in Northern Nevada.
