New2U Bridal Consignment Terms & Conditions

If you are unfamiliar with the term, consignment is a process in which the consignee (the seller) pays the consignor (the person who owns the item) a portion of the proceeds from the sale. Payment is not made until and unless the item actually sells. The consignor retains title to the item at all times, and can end the arrangement at any time by requesting return of the item. A specified period of time is commonly arranged, after which time if the item does not sell the owner can reclaim the item (or, if not reclaimed within a period of time, the seller can dispose of the item at his/her discretion).

Below are the specific guidelines for consigning items with New2U Bridal: We accept bridal gowns and formal attire that is less than 5 years old, however, we will consider older gowns if they have a classic style.

What we accept:

Bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, flower girl dresses, prom dresses, shawls & purses, jewelry, veils & headpieces, mother of the bride/groom dresses, evening gowns/cocktail dresses, bridal/formal shoes, crinolines & petticoats and decor items.

We also accept un-engraved gift items such as champagne/wine glass sets, mugs, flasks, photo frames, favor boxes, bridal & bridal party gifts, etc.

Items will be priced at 30%-60% off original retail price.

Bridal gowns should range in original price from $500-$4,000+.

Gowns and accessories will be on consignment for 6 months.

Consigner received 50% of the sale price on all gowns and accessories.

Once-worn gowns MUST BE PROFESSIONALLY DRY CLEANED and free from holes, tears or stains and in "like-new" condition.  Hemline discoloration bay be acceptable since gowns can be hemmed.  If New2U Bridal has to dry clean the gown, the cost of the dry cleaning will be deducted from the commission paid to the consignor.  If the gown does not sell, consignor agrees to reimburse New2U Bridal the actual cost of the dry cleaning before New2U Bridal will release the gown after the consignment period ends.

All gowns are placed in clear dress bags to help keep them as clean as possible during the consignment period. If you have previously worn the gown, you may bring a photo of yourself in the dress.  A copy of the photo will be made and hung with the dress while it is in the store.

While we take all reasonable and necessary measures to prevent loss, theft or damage to your items, our consignment agreement will expressly relieve New2U Bridal of any liability for any such loss, theft or damage.

Should the gown not sell after 20 weeks, we will contact the consignor and request that New2U Bridal be able to discount the gown at an agreed upon percentage.  Consigner has the right to deny any discounts be placed on their items.

If after 26 weeks (6months) your items remain unsold, they will be removed from our store and online listings and you will be contacted to pick up your items.  Items not picked up within 21 days of notification will become property of New2U Bridal.

Should the consignor need to remove items before the consignment period ends, a $25.00 service fee will be collected at pick-up.
